As the exhaust fumes gather and Brewer Street Car Park returns to its original self, we’ve put together a round-up of our favourite looks from the ever decadent London Fashion Week.   From Sparkling Sequins to Bold Berry Lips, these trends are sure to make a big statement for the Autumn, so why not be one of the first to get smugly ahead of the curve..!

BARE EYES BOLD LIPS

Bold Lips Bare Eyes

From Mary Katrantzou to Gareth Pugh, Bold Berry Lips & Nude Eyes were very visible across the shows of this season’s London Fashion Week. Bases were kept simple & dewy, leaving luscious lips to shine center stage. Particularly effective when paired with dark toned hair to give a striking facial contrast, this is a trend that even the least make-up savey will be able to perfect.

VALIANT VELVETS

Velvet

Seen in full in the Statement Suits at Osman and embellishment at Daks – velvet brought a hint of the 90’s to AW16. Holly Fulton’s trademark floral appliqué added detailing to traditional velvet ensembles, whilst Roksanda kept it simple with oversized masculine pieces. A surprisingly practical choice for the colder months….bring on the Jewel Toned Velvets!

ELABORATE EMBELLISHMENT

Sequins

Most prominent at Ashish, sequins stole the show with a definite 80’s disco throw-back feel; think candy floss ‘fro’s & two-toned glitter. On the more subtle end of the spectrum, Alexander McQueen brought sequins to the catwalk with elaborate gold embellishments on sheer black pieces. Baby pink sequins added a surprising pop of colour to Preen by Thornton Bregazzi; paired with playful pink furs & shimmering silks, which were definitely our favourite looks… A brave trend to follow, but why not embrace it with small scale sequins paired with staple black pieces to ease yourself into some bold textures?
